Moon Over the Chisos

Moon over the Chisos, and Sierra Del Carmen
Light up the waters, of the old Rio Grande
Surrounded by beauty, so wild that it hurts
Ah, but nothing compares to you, nothing on this earth

Oh hold me close to you
And whisper my name
I’m still in love with you
After all of these years
Oh hold me close to you
And never let go
There’s no border between us
Here in old Mexico

Oh it’s snowing on Emery, and the green pinion pines
And old Casa Grande, stands like Father Time
Watching over this desert, and this place in my heart
But you’re the rock that I turn to, when the going gets hard

Down the cottonwood valleys, walk with your hand in mine
Through the juniper canyons, up these mountains so fine
We’ll make love in the desert, by the river of lore
Oh I’ve been a rich man, even if I’ll be poor

Moon over the Chisos, and Sierra Del Carmen
Light up the waters, of the old Rio Grande
Surrounded by beauty, so wild that it hurts
Ah, but nothing compare to you, nothing on this earth.
